Position Information
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing emergency department at Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, Texas. This opportunity offers practice in a newer hospital with strong APP support, meaningful patient volume, and a collaborative rural care setting.

Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine
ACLS required
PALS required
APPs: ATLS required

Annual ED volume: 28,000 visits, averaging 77 visits per day
Pediatric visits: 29%
Physician shifts: 7a–7p and 7p–7a
APP coverage: 9a–9p and 2p–2a
Admission rate: 8.5%
Average patients per hour: MD 2.0, APP 2.0
Transfer rate: 8%
Specialty backup includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics
EMR and CPOE: MediTech 6.0
