Position Information
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing emergency department at Methodist Hospital Westover Hills in San Antonio, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a modern ED with meaningful volume, strong APP support, and planned expansion already approved.
Qualifications
Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine with ED experience
APP candidates: EM fellowship training preferred
Position Highlights
14 rooms, 1 trauma bay, 12 vertical care areas, and 6 hallway beds
Approved expansion planned for Q3 2026 to add 8 additional rooms, 1 trauma bay, and a fast-track remodel
Annual ED volume: approximately 35,000 visits, averaging 95 visits per day
Trauma designation pending credentialing in May 2026
Physician coverage varies by day of week
APP coverage includes multiple overlapping shifts
Admission rate: 17%
Average physician productivity: 1.6 patients per hour
