Position Information
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing, high-volume emergency department at Methodist Hospital Northeast in San Antonio, Texas. This opportunity offers the pace and acuity of a busy ED with strong physician and APP coverage, efficient operations, and the support of an experienced leadership team.
Qualifications
Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine with ED experience
APP candidates: EM fellowship training preferred
Position Highlights
46 ED rooms, 10 vertical care areas, and 10 hallway beds
Annual ED volume: 58,520 visits, averaging 160 visits per day
Pediatric visits: 9%
Trauma Level IV designation pending state approval
Physician coverage varies by day with 5–6 nine-hour shifts daily
APP coverage varies by day with 4–6 shifts daily
Admission rate: 22.2%
Transfer rate: 2%
EMS volume: 23%
Average physician productivity: 2.1 patients per hour
