Position Information
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing, high-volume emergency department at Methodist Hospital Northeast in San Antonio, Texas. This opportunity offers the pace and acuity of a busy ED with strong physician and APP coverage, efficient operations, and the support of an experienced leadership team.
Qualifications
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred, or Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
ACLS required
PALS required
ATLS required unless BC/EM
Position Highlights
14 ED beds, including 2 trauma rooms
Annual ED volume: 16,000 visits, averaging 43 visits per day
Pediatric visits: 23%
Level IV Trauma designation
Physician shifts: 7a–7p and 7p–7a
APP coverage: 10a–10p
Admission rate: 15%
Transfer rate: 5%, with majority transferring to Memorial Hermann
Specialties on staff include OB/GYN, Pediatrics, General/Trauma Surgery, Telemedicine Neurology, Telemedicine Critical Care, Podiatry, and Cardiology
EMR: Meditech
